I have an Audi Q3 with the 17" inch wheels (downgraded for the better ride quality and cost of replacement tyres). 125kw TSFI petrol with 7 speed DSG and leather upgrade to fine nappa.

Initial impressions are that it is one smart car. I'm still trying to work out my ideal driving position and miss some of the 'options' which I did not choose, such as lane assist. However, generally visibility is very good.

Faults?
1. Wind noise from the driver side door. This may be a loose window seal (I had tint installed pre-delivery) at speeds >80km/h. This isn't an uncommon problem in vehicles I've test driven but I'll go over the window and door seals with a fine tooth comb.
2. Marred paintwork. Terrible. Downright terrible for a new vehicle to have my detailer have to polish it before the vehicle is 24 hours out of the dealership. My detailer is somewhat OCD but the best in his business and wanted the paintwork perfect prior to opticoating it.
3. The seats whilst comfortable are not quite as comfortable as the sporty seats with thigh support in the BMW 135 or the new Audi A3 sportback!
4. Steering is too light. Great for parking but feels like something out of a driving arcade. I wish I opted for the Audi drive select now.
5. Been mentioned before - no centre armrest in the back. The tiguan has one. Why doesn't the Audi?
6. No vanity light in the makeup mirror or auto-dimming mirror - that's just poor!

Overall, the engine is smooth, responsive and refined. The Xenon's and appearance very attractive. And the Audi pairs well with my iPhone 4S without difficulty. Voice recognition has been quite good too 'out of the box' without me having to train the way I speak to it. No qualms re: ride quality so far. The engine etc... is still being run in and I'm in the 'gentle to moderate acceleration and decel' camp so haven't been aggressively testing it's cornering ability although remember the test vehicle did just fine.

I decided to bear the cost of fixing the paintwork. My detailer is a perfectionist. Audi certainly as heck are not!

Likewise Mal. I've just ordered an S line 148 diesel auto Quattro in Daytona gray with Bose, SD sat nav, heated leather seats and sunroof. Should arrive end Oct. can't wait! If anyone has these extras I'd love to know if they're worth it please!

Simon. Of the options on your list, the only one I have is the sunroof, which is fantastic. Gives a nice open feeling when shut, but remember to use the sunblind when parking on a really hot day, as it prevents the interior getting too hot. Oh, and I also have leather seats (not heated- except on a sunny day when the sunblind has not been used!!!!), which are very nice too.

Heated seats are always worth it, especially if you have leather seats - it can be pretty tough on the twiddly-bits jumping into a leather seat on a frosty morning...

The SD SAT/NAV is excellent, to the point of wondering what the DVD based supersystem gives you for the extra grand.

I have the "Supersystem" (aka "full fat" version)...
To be honest, I think all SatNav's are similar, but the screen quality and resolution given by the Technology Pack version is of a higher quality than screen shots I have seen of the SD version (not that the 3D city mapping has been of use anywhere but Nottingham, so far!)
The extra grand does also cover the Hard Disk Music jukebox, DVD capability and high-resolution colour DIS, plus the dubious benefit of the reversible floor (not sure how this qualifies under the "Technology" banner) - so maybe it just about acquits itself...?

Hello All,
Got myself a Q3 on 16th Jan 2014.

Cobalt Blue, with Premium Plus pack which consists of Xenon lights with auto range, signature DRL, interior LED pack, Audi sound system, Color DIS, panoramic sunroof, hill assist, Auto transmission, 2.0L-177hp-380nm-7 speed tronic transmission.

The drive has been amazing so far. The engine is still in its 400km run so I get about 10.5km/liter in city. But I am told it will increase to about 13-14km/liter.
There is no noise at all inside and is silk smooth. Infact you dont get to know how fast you reached 80-90km/hr. The accel is too good. You can really see that after you cross the speed breaker with others or start after a red light. You see others in your mirrors quickly :). Its effort less.

I have the 17in 10spoke alloys. Does anyone know the exact recommeded pressure ? is it 34psi ?

The only issue here in India is, the navigation is not enabled yet. The Q5 technology pack has it due to its harddrive. But the SD card based nav is not enabled. I am told if I have concert radio, color DIS and 2 SD cards it will be upgradable in future so just waiting for it. It comes with space saver tyre by default.
The only thing that could have been better is the color of fog lights. they dont go well with the xenons and DRLs. But I know they have to be yellow warm to do their job :)
In India the temperatures are 15C-32C. So no heated seats are really not required.

Got the 3M paint protect applied and the CR-70 windscreen film for uv protection.

Hi Araje, welcome to the forum. That sounds like a lovely ride you've got there. How about posting some pictures when you can?

I have a similar spec. with 17" wheels and 34psi is the correct pressure. Just to be sure there should be a sticker on the driver's door shut panel detailing the correct pressures for all circumstances - have a look when you next open the door.

...remembering to stop the car first, of course...

I've just been reading it from the other thread - good well-balanced, detailed review. Good pics, too.

Great review and pictures. Your weather really makes the cobalt blue shine.
