"The Q3 has been criticised as being dull and not exciting. To be fair I would agree, this is not the car for thrills. My overriding emotion when driving the Q3 is not excitement, but rather very, very deep satisfaction. I cannot help feeling that all is well in the world when sat behind the wheel of this effortlessly easy to drive and pleasurable car.

I can certainly recommend this vehicle to anyone contemplating it. I was seriously looking at the Evoque when choosing my car. The Evoque has a number of pluses and minuses; but the key difference is the driving position. The Q3 gives you great visibility and the Evoque just does not.

When I was younger I was told that BMWs are for people who are 'getting there'; Mercedes are for people who ‘are there' and Jaguars are for people who ‘have been there'. The Q3 could apply to all these; however it is probably best appreciated by a driver who has a mature approach to driving"

Went through the same deliberation with reference to RRE so glad I went for the Q3 instead. You sum up my feelings on owning this car so well and what ownership means compared to the other premium brands.

Can't say i've noticed any wind noise inside the car, i find it strangely quiet in fact. Maybe the door is slightly out of alignment or a loose seal, if it's really noticeable i would take it back to your dealer? Is it on the motorway or noticeable at low speeds too?

I find mine very quiet as well and is certainly the quietest car in the cabin I have owned. I suppose it depends on what car you came from before to a degree to what your expectations are. I only hear noise on Diesel engine start up and at very high speeds on motorway and then its not much at all. I hired a car for work recently a Hyundai I30 and it was do noisy on the motorway I had to pull off and drive on A roads.

</font>I have given the door and seal a look over. To my untrained eye
everything looks in place.I having been driving an A3 just prior to getting the Q3, and the noise
from the driver's side window is louder in my new car. I notice this on A roads
particularly when oncoming traffic passes me.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

</font>I will get the dealer to have a look. Whilst I can
live with it easily enough, it would be daft not to have it remedied if possible.

I too notice the noise of cars passing on dual carriageways and motorways. I put it down to low general road noise, noise from the engine and from the windscreen that's making the noise from passing cars more noticeable. There's no whistling or noise that I'd associate with wind/poor fitting, unlike my interior heater fan that gives off a slight whistle first thing in the morning from the windscreen air vents when the fan level is above 3 bars. I hope you get it sorted.

Hello everyone I read through some comments and you made me even more excited and looking forward to getting my new Q3 ... I am expecting to have it towards the end of January 2013. Was browsing through some forums seeing what problems other owners have experienced, just in case ! Keep it up

Hi RFQ3 - what sort of Q3 are you getting?

Hi Jules, thanks for your interest and reply.

I am getting Q3 2.0 TDI (143bhp) SE FWD. Main extras include glacier white colour, xenon plus lights, LED interior package and leather seats. The only thing I regret since time of ordering is the fact that I have not upgraded the alloy wheels (so I will be getting the standard 17" 10-spoke type)... Anyways, hopefully the car will live up to my expectations !

Nothing wrong with those choices - and to be honest the alloy wheels of the standard car are actually quite smart!
Welcome aboard anyway - I am sure you'll enjoy the car, I've done 15,000 miles in 6 months, and no major complaints yet

What's your biggest concern?

Having read some owner's reviews as a guest and found highly useful information - I have since ordered my Q3 - I decided to sign up and participate.
