Key User details disappeared ?

When we picked the new car up from the dealer two months ago (2023 Q3 40 tfsi Sportback) the dealer went through all the key user set up for my wife (its her car so i'm happy to be a guest user). The My Audi App was set up etc. and she entered her e-mail and a personalised PIN. From then on the vehicle recognised her as the "key user" and whenever she got in the car the screen registered her as the key user and said "hello Vera".

Suddenly this week, this has all disappeared and we are both guest users.

She always uses the same key, but I sometimes use her key and sometimes the "spare". Regardless of which key I'm using I always press "continue as guest" - has this confused the dear Audi which has caused it to delete the "key user" info ? Has anybody had this happen to them ?

Also, when we collected the car the dealer explained that the Audi Connect Activation Card with 10 digit code had not arrived, but it wasn't really needed and would make no difference in setting up the MyAudi App, the "key user" and other user profiles - is the dealer correct in this ?

The dealer said the card would arrive "soon" but we've heard nothing yet. Is it essential to have that card ? I think on previous models the 10 digit code was on the key tag.

Any info gratefully received.

Get used to it, I lost my all settings, favourites etc. about 5-6 times already, every 2-3 months. Rubbish software.

Just a further update. The key user has now been successfully reinstated without an activation card. All that was required was the e-mail address, as logged on the Audi main system and the password previously applied.

It seems that Audi have changed the system, they no longer issue the Activation Code Card. If I understand correctly, this means that when a car is sold to the second owner (especially if sold privately or to a non-Audi dealer) the new owner will need to visit an authorised dealer and fill out the necessary paperwork, including providing verification of identity, and set up the app before a new key user can be assigned. Of course this also applies to the third owner and so on.

Its all part of keeping things within the dealer network etc. and of course data gathering. ;)
If you're right (and it looks you are) then I'm not happy of this new process, the less I'm dealing with other institutions and companies, the better. Automated, streamlined processes, that's the future, not phone calls and in person visits when not necessary.
