Has anybody else noticed that the windshield wipers sound like they are about to start up, then change their mind, when you start the car? They were turned off when I left the car last time, and I don't intend to use them again, still this happens.
No problem during the summer, but when everything is frozen solid, I worry that the wiper's engines will be "tortured" by this little "mini-wipe" that they seem to (futilely) try...

HiThe wipers are programmed to move a small amount so that the rubber blade is bent in the other direction, apparently it helps lengthen the life of the blade and effectiveness. Mine does it (as did my old A3) but I don't think the movement is enough to actually move the blade on the wind screen. I'll check next time. I see your concern though about frozen bladesRegardsMark

Mine does it as well although I've not really noticed under what condition it will do that. If it helps lengthen the life of the blade, then I'm all for it! (Don't get ice where I am...)
