Try finding a "standard" garage big enough to fit a Q3 into! Mine is part of the house and is just big enough to take my classic car - a rare Mk 1 Fiesta Million - which is tiny by comparison with almost any current vehicle short of a Fiat 500.
The last time we moved house, fast approaching 21 years ago now having a double play-room for me was high on the list of must have criteria, had a bike back then so a radiator went on the wall to keep the Vmax warm in the winter...now the RS has the benefit instead...

Have just put a 'traffic light' device in so my wife can stop before she hits the work bench with her A1....I wish I was joking...

I am fortunate enough to have some old stables in the back garden and the bikes are kept there. I never leave them out the front of the house even though we are in a ‘nice’ rural area with low crime levels. If I get followed by an iffy looking van, I have a couple of stupid routes close to the house I can use to see if they follow but so far so good.🤞🤞. I used to keep the TVR in a car port in the back garden as well.

In my architectural years, ever since a client had trouble getting a Merc 190 in a normal garage, whenever I could, all garages I designed had 2.4m clear door opening and were 6m to 6.5m long. I based everything on a Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon originally and that usually worked...until a client wanted a garage that would take a Range Rover with permanent roof box!!

30 years ago a neighbour had an Escort RS and, in the end, he would go anywhere he couldn’t keep an eye on it so sold it and bought a boring box.

Really sad to read about the robbery. I thought that sort of thing was on the wane.

Unfortunately, that’s the world we live in... we can’t have nice things and show them anymore... I come from France, Paris, and I tell you : it’s 10 times worse there. You can’t have any RS, anything powerful or beautiful. Because either it will be stolen violently or it will be scratched or broken because « rich is dirty ». I unfortunately will never own anything too fancy for that reason. Sad sad world. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Wow! That’s my future plan of a trip to France in the RS unlikely to happen then🤔

Can I please make some observations regarding things that have happened to me. I have had many RS cars but 2 in question attracted unwanted attention. I got converted my garage to my office so my car is parked on the drive. Two undesirables tried to steal my RS4 wielding baseball bats. I had 10 stiches in my forehead. Another two undesirables tried to steal my RS3 and when I said no to handing over my keys they macheted the car leaving me with an expensive repair bill. Then it dawned on me that the undesirables could see the oval exhausts, the sign of an RS. These are very attractive to break down and sell as parts. If I could have purchased an RSQ3 with a round exhaust on each side then I would have done. I do not want to be abused any more so I have an innocuous 45TFSI. I have had 37 good years of owning Audi's, so maybe replacing the RSQ3 by a 45TFSI could give you peace of mind.
Jesus fella, where do you live... Kabul?
Unfortunate to have the same horrible experience twice, nasty 😔. Could it have been the same crew I wonder... They always say after being burgled, wait a few months for owners to replace the goods than do Jr again. 😡

The wife wasn't best pleased with my purchase of the RS to be fair... She's always over caucious when it comes to security even thought she's never had any reason to be be concerned... Her words were something like "why the **** have you bought a "red beacon" to sit on our drive, that's just asking for trouble"! CCTV was installed the week after to calm her down 🤣

I live in a good part of North Leeds. The two incidents were separated by almost 4 years. They were not the same louts but they had the same objective. In Leeds we have the have's and the have nots. The have's save their money and purchase as nice a car as they can afford. The have not's have not got the money but know the people that have. I now have CCTV installed and the alarm system, if triggered, contacts the police directly. I have a cute idea to stop car theft. Install a Halon cylinder and if you do not touch a hidden switch then the Halon is released in to the car removing all the Oxygen. I would let the louts have the keys and watch in amusement.

Well after doing a bit of digging over the last couple of days I have found out there was two other performance cars nicked local to me, all nicked the same way by breaking in and getting hold of the keys, so looks like a gang doing the rounds.

Unfortunately I don't have a garage so the car has to live on the drive, but if I ever move next house will need at least a double garage for the bikes and car.

I am swaying towards getting another RS if I do will definitely get a tracker fitted and additional security to the house.

My view is that low life sum bags won't stop me having what I want, but then I've never had any issues and the car is garaged. Maybe I'd think differently if something did happen but for now that is my view.
People say they wouldn't want it back if it was stolen but then I would. Frstly as it is my pride and joy that I've saved and worked hard for, but secondly why should they profit from their I'll gotten gains. It only makes them continue and for that reason I do have extra security in place.
If my car was outside on the drive I'd still have it but I'd make it as hard as possible to take.
When I had netgear arlo cameras you could link them to the hue lights in the house to turn on when they spotted motion. You can also set the hue lights to turn on and off through the night if you want. I'm sure they'd move on if they thought someone was up

I had an Autowatch Ghost 2 fitted on the RS4 - it immobilised the car by preventing the transmission lever being moved out of park...so even with the keys unless you'd pressed a sequence of dash buttons in the correct order it wasn't going anywhere. I'll be straight-up and say that it was a bit tedious at times but for peace of mind - hard to beat.

Do remember that the MyAudi App records the last known position of the car..and shows it on Google Earth.

I think that would depend on the spec of the car as you would need connect

Did you have a tech pack on yours with a separate SIM card?

So as Ju has identified already the MyAudi App can't track your car's location...that's a shame.

Tbh I've never actually checked to see if the myaudi app locates the car, so I'll check tomorrow when I'm at work and see where it shows. (y)

Just had a call from the police the car has been recovered and is in a compound in Langley hopefully will get an update later to the condition of the car, I'm in two minds if I want it back will all depends on what they have done to it.

Great news, hope it hasn't been trashed or thrashed. It's really good to hear it's been recovered.
