I had to giggle at the slight incongruity of finding "RSQ3" and "driven fairly sensibly" in the same posting...
Thank you for trying to reassure me. The car checks out, the dealer is upfront and has send me the service record from AUDI which is:Just a comment on the 5 owner issue...... a couple of years back I bought a TT Roadster, 6 years old, 22,000 miles at the time and with 5 previous owners! It had a partial Audi service history but had plenty of receipts etc.
However the car was immaculate and drove well so I took the plunge. In the 2.5 years and 5000 miles I drove it I only had 2 problems necessitating calling out the rescue services but neither of them was serious (one of them was just a faulty sensor). I had it serviced at my local Audi dealer and they confirmed it was immaculate and that I’d purchased a “bargain”. I had loads of fun in the car and sold it for a decent price recently when I “downsized” from 2 cars to 1. The purchasing dealer wasn’t the slightest bit bothered by the number of previous owners.
Specialist cars like these often throw up unforeseen issues with purchasers eg impractical, too expensive to run, problems with the repayments, job loss etc.
If the car is right don’t let the number of previous owners bother you; equally, if you’re uncomfortable walk away.
ps. The dealer who bought it from me advertised it at what I considered to be a ridiculous price and sold it within 5 days (with 6 previous owners!🤣🤣)
I got the dealer to phone Audi, gearbox, and sparkplugs were done at the inspection service 06/02/19 Inspection Service 36,345 Miles.Good luck mate, hope its the one for you... Regarding haldex, I can only think the car has changed hands and the next person got the haldex done again to be on the safe side...? Do you have any mention of spark plugs on the receipts.... These are evey 20k miles, also the gearbox oil change is every 38k... Any mention of this being done recently?
If not get your negotiation skills ready as your looking to drop about 400quid to get the plugs and gearbox serviced 😉
I never thought about it that way, I just went by their reviews and the fact that the Black car dealer was very easy to deal with while the other kind was a bit harder. You have definitely got me thinking now.Out of the 2 I'd definitely say the grey one as it looks like a "proper" dealer with premises whereas the black one has pictures from a scenic location....puts me off straight away.
Didn't notice the HDD Satnav good point actually. It has fewer owners as well and better speck think it is worth the extra £500 even without the Haldex..The Daytona Grey one has Hill Hold (see the second switch behind the handbrake one), the HDD Satnav (narrow screen border) - so all the terrain mapping plus 3D landmarks and city centre buildings, a juke box and the ability to play video files from the SD slots as well as DVDs, it has cruise control too. That's a nice RS - would look tons better with the seats cleaned back to natural leather and not all shiny.
