Welcome to the board - at 21,000 miles your front disks will likely be OK, changing the front pads on the RSQ3 to EBC Redstuffs (is different compound to the OEM items) eliminates the squeaking issue. Disc wear virtually stops (discs just get polished to be mirrors by the ceramic pads), negligible dust and better brakes - not a lot not to like.

Hello all, I have recently purchased a late 2015 RSQ3 (facelift) with 55k on the clock and after having the car for a week I am getting the howling noise when the car is crawling in 'D' like the one in the youtube video posted at the start of this thread. The front 2 discs and all brake pads were changed at Audi 5k miles ago so there is quite a lot of wear left on them. What would be the best fix for this? The noise is very annoying.

Welcome to the club. I had a 2015 FL 340 PS RSQ3 myself.

Its an easy fix although it will mean binning the Audi OEM disc pads and replacing with EBC Redstuffs - as per post 121. The OEM pads are abrasive and wear the very expensive discs out in about 30,000 miles. The EBCs are a ceramic compound that doesn't wear the disc, provides better initial 'grab', performs better still when hot and produces very little dust - not much to dislike, lots of owners here have made the switch.

I also came across a very weird noise coming from the steering today, its the sort of noise/feel you get when your car is on gravel and you turn the steering wheel, except this is constant even on smooth roads which has confused me and got worried today. Thanks for your input on the other post regarding carplay too, that place is actually very local to me so i will be giving them a visit. Would you recommend any specialists in this sort of local area to have a look at my steering John?

Discs - I've used non-OEM on the rears - snazzy drilled Kinetix jobs, only ever used OEM on the front. If you buy the discs ahead of schedule and have the time give the outer hubs a squirt of BBQ silver paint - they loose the initial shine quite quickly.

Cant thank you enough for all the information you provide John! Even when looking through other threads and questions you're always there with an informative response which makes life so much easier for people like me! I will be purchasing all the items before they are fitted so I will have time to. Found some discs for £550 shipped to me - cheapest ive found but upon reading other threads I believe there is someone in here who works at the Crewe Audi and was offering discount for people in this forum at a price of £480? I may be wrong but thats what i remember reading off the top of my head. Also, could you provide a link for the rear discs that you put on your 2015 RSQ3. Thanks again

Hi,
Yes it seems like its coming from the steering wheel itself when i turn it but its hard to say. Its definitely something within there, It came on the other day then went later on in the day and it came back yesterday. Today I started it and it was gone. I'm starting to think it may be to do with my pads and discs being quite worn but not sure. Are you having the same issue?
