I've set this thread up following a suggestion from another member, it's purpose being to list the details of any good VAG or general independent garages known to them so that members can easily locate any in their area when needed.

Please post details of any you can recommend, including website links, phone numbers and any other useful information.

Following on from my recent experience, let me be the first...

They are East Kent Automotive Ltd., based at Lydden. Dead easy to find, just off the A2 'twixt Canterbury and Dover, near the Lydden Hill motor racing circuit.

Frankly I can't recommend them too highly based on my experience with them so far. The premises are neat, clean and tidy, they've kept every promise they've made and have been a joy to deal with. The car was even returned spotlessly clean inside and out. They are an MoT station, handle other prestige brands as well as VAG and do an excellent job for far less than main dealer rates. Check their website out for full details of their range of services.

Servicing & Repairs

I've not used them myself but they come highly recommended by on of the other Audi Owners Clubs. Also think they have recently invested in the factory level ODIS diagnostic system which links direct to Audi Germany

Cheers Spike

Warwick - Vastec - Vastec | Seat Audi Skoda Volkswagon Specialist Have done a few jobs for me, interim oil changes/discs/pads - excellent.

Camberley/Blackwater - The Phirm - http://thephirm.co.uk/ These guys are amazing, your car gets repaired by technicians with a passion for quality. They fitted the AVC to the RSQ3 so it looks like it was factory fitted from new, and the RedStuff pads to the front callipers - did they just fit the pads? No, the technician took an air-drill and cleared each of the perforated disc holes that were clogged with pad material from the OEM pads, front and back of each disc, both sides and I didn't even have to ask. You wouldn't even get that in a Audi dealer, simply fabulous. Close to the Blackwater station too.

Only needed to use once so far for wheel sensor failure but very impressed with the attitude and the work done.

Whatlington, about 10 miles up the A21 from Hastings, East Sussex.

Not a shiny floor company but took care of me out of the blue. Rang about the warning light on Thursday, they said to bring it in next day, rang me after an hour and confirmed what needed doing and price, collected it at 4.00pm.
Copies of all the diagnostic print outs.

I've used APS in Brackley in the past and they're a very professional outfit. They used to win the Audi Driver magazine award for independent servicing virtually every year. I've also used the Phirm and found them to be very good. From John's description it sounds like they've moved down the road a bit since I was last there, though. They were between Hook and Hartley Wintney if I recall.

Autotechnics, Blandford Forum, Dorset - VAG Specialists - erWin Audi registered - Bosch Service Approved Garage.

2 years ago I bought a relatively low mileage but generally neglected example of a car I have wanted to own for 20 years, an Audi TT Mk1 Quattro Roadster. My days of tackling "oily" jobs on cars are over I'm sorry to say so I set out to find a reliable, independent Audi specialist and limit myself to the "cosmetics". By recommendation, I tried Autotechnics and Brendon and his team have systematically helped me to bring my "other woman" into tip-top condition. Their depth of knowledge is excellent with some "old school" Audi trained motor engineers.

3 years ago I bought a new Audi Q3 1.4 TFSI S line manual from my local Audi dealer and 15 months later I p/exed it for an ex-demo Q3 2.0TFSI Stronic Black Edition. I had a faulty upholstery warranty claim on the 1.4, a complete MMI failure and hatch actuator failure warranty claims on the 2.0. The litany of poor service was almost endless and I swore that I would never darken their doors for vehicle service by one of their "Technicians". The old expression "Fur coat but no knickers" sums it up.

I discussed my dilemma with Brendon, particularly not wanting to jeopardise any future warranty claims and he told me that they had just joined the erWin Audi system. This investment gives them the same access to the Audi "Big Boy" computer as an Audi dealership. So as long as Audi approved fluids and parts are used the cars digital service record is updated and it will not affect the warranty.

I can highly recommend Autotechnics. If you are further afield I recommend you seek out your own local "Brendon". The only very minor downside; no "coffee totty".

Newbie here,

I have recently had a cam belt kit, aux belt & water pump change on a 2013 SLine Quattro 23k

All OEM parts fitted, by VAG independent autohaus Daley in Sheffield cost £360. Inc vat showed me the parts, used. Audi quoted over £700 so no complaints.

Service records updated as well.

Nice find... 360 GBP seems very reasonable for a job well done :)

I have been in contact with the Quattro Tech people St Ives and they could not have been more helpful. However to service my Q3 Stronic presents a problem I live 70+ miles from St Ives the car has to be left at Quattro Tech over night as it requires a “Gearbox Oil Change” and the time taken for the gearbox to cool down take place over night or most of the day I would have had to drop the car off and then be driven back to Norwich then returned to St Ives next day or stay overnight locally! As you can see there where several problems 1) person to take and return me to garage🤔 2) or find an hotel stay overnight. Without the gearbox issue it was doable in a few hours with gearbox oil change the logistics where difficult! Ramble over suffice to say the Quattro Tech boys where very aware of the problem! Will use them next time with no Gearbox issue. Yorky.
