I'm sure many members will have already seen the 'Inside Story' article 'Filtering the Forums' in this weeks edition of Auto Express, where it asks the question 'Can you trust the advice you get on online car forums?' One of the case studies refers to a Q3 thread on chipping diesels in connection with both performance but mainly warranties. It makes for interesting reading along with the other examples (some ridiculous) and the conclusion is that advice given on forums can be a mixed bag ....
I am sure that all my member colleagues on this forum are intelligent enough to realise this
but I thought that it may be worth highlighting anyway. I have gained much from the forum and hopefully will continue to do so using my own common sense if and when required. I'm surprised that perhaps there isn't a disclaimer somewhere on the site however, unless I couldn't find it.
I also couldn't find a link to the article which doesn't appear to be on the AE website
