In my 2017 Q3 there was no switch setting for mirror heating, it worked it out for itself and turned off if required. Also, on the 2017 Q3 the seat heating gradually reduced itself over time where as on my current Q3 it is at a constant setting. Comparing the two generations Audi have addressed a lot of issues in a positive way but certain details have gone backwards. I have the sports suspension as I personally do not like the dynamic suspension and I use dynamic mode select all the time with the DSG in automatic, helped occasionally by the paddles if I need to move quickly.
Yes, it's the first car I've had with a separate mirror heating switch, odd place to put it... added complexity. All first-world problem that are nice to have. Mine's fairly base as Audi Watford wanted to keep it under £40k. No paddles or suspension options. If I want fun, other car is an S2000. I love it!
Having heated mirrors that are not select ably turned on can be a pain - as the glass heater elements bake the *rap to the surface....was a Saab 9-5 'feature' I recall.
So after about 6 months of ownership I've decided to sell the Q3. It's a great looking car but I've never really taken to it perhaps not helped by having to get new rear discs and pads after just 3 weeks and 220 miles.
Due to the lockdown I only covered about 900 miles in the first 5 months of ownership and although I've done a further 600 miles in the last month since restrictions have eased I'm finding it's not the car for me.
From doing a couple of 200+ mile round trips for work meetings every month pre-covid these are now done through Microsoft Teams and this won't change back. I only really use the car for taking my two working cocker spaniels out and I carry them in a cage in the boot but that's not ideal when they are dirty, wet, smelly and covered in grass or sand. I also marshal at rallies (which has thankfully started again) and this requires me to carry a bit of gear and travel in to forests tracks so I've decided to go for a pick-up which will suit my needs a lot better especially as I no longer have the regular long road trips for work. I am a serial car changer, this will be my 13th different car in under 15 years, and some cars I have enjoyed owning and some not so much and disappointingly that's where the Q3 fits in despite me really wanting to like it.
I've been offered a surprisingly good deal of a new Nissan Nivara plus cash for the Q3 so there will be a well specced, good looking, well cared for, lightly used Q3 coming up for sale soon.
Hope you all enjoy your Q3's and this great little forum, best wishes
Sorry to hear that but these things happen. I’ve done it with four bikes and two or three cars over the years.
Anything that takes away a commute is a positive and before you got to it I was thinking pick-up.
Hope it all goes well for you.
