4 months now and nothing
Seems to me it's all to *ell as someone has broken the crystal ball. I ordered a replacement SE with a couple of minor factory options towards the end of Aug for Mar '22 delivery. Suddenly, on 1st Oct get a message saying car was in build, yikes. Since then not a peep. There is no rhyme or reason I can uncover which determines possible delivery date, the dealer is in the dark too.

Murphy's Law strikes again.
No sooner than I had sent the previous message than the dealer contacted me to say the car was waiting to be loaded for the crossing to the Tyne port. Ah well as I said above who knows anything. Looks like the "R" will be evicted earlier then planned. It'll be nice to start the new salmon season in a comfy car again.

Thanks John, now the wrestling begins with the Ins brokers.

You can't get NFU Mutual to play ball? They have to be called - as its old-skool personal service, now use them for home buildings and contents too.

When I had the previous RSQ3 I was with AUDI Ins.
A badly placed stone chip placed me in a dilemma needing a new windscreen. AUTOGLASS who was the insurer's rogue of choice wanted me to have a new windscreen without even seeing the problem, it would not have been Audi glass, creating possible issues with the sensors etc. I needed the car returning to original manufacture's spec. Local Audi wanted £1k + to replace it. In the end a very skilful local coy made a superb repair. I don't want copies or chinese knock offs so I did not renew with Audi Ins.
I have indeed had a quote from NFU, who are big up here. They look to be front runners, not the cheapest but the best and will if needed replace with Audi glass.

Hi Mike,
I’m with ESure, got a crack in top left corner from a chip right near the edge but haven’t tried for a replacement yet, fingers crossed they’ll agree to genuine.
I did also get a crack in lower left behind wiper about 2 months in with last Q3, I had to change the screen before trade in and using Autoglass LV didn’t argue when I insisted on genuine, unfortunately LV wouldn’t cover the RSQ3.
Tich at Highland Windscreens is very good though when your not forced elsewhere👍

I’m still with LV with the RS but have been with them for donkeys years now.
We are in the sticks in Sussex, which may help.

I’m also in the sticks in the Highlands, one of lowest risk areas but LV very apologetic but couldn’t quote for the new F3 Sportback RSQ3, they couldn’t quote for the car full stop.
In fairness full refund pro-rata of cover left, no cancellation fee as they did it and NCB confirmation emailed straight away

That’s weird unless you are a lunatic maniac with an annual claim for 10 years. ;)
Mind you, back in the 90’s they suddenly decided they didn’t insure VR6 VW Corrados any more.
There is no logic.

Insurance is a minefield. There is no such thing as cheapest and/or best. I am with Admiral as I won't live long enough to go through all the comparison or direct web sites.

Yes, Tich at Highland Windscreens was the man who did the excellent repair, and very reasonable too.

No convictions, no claims, full NCB, 45 years old🤷‍♂️
They did say it was just the car itself they couldn’t cover/quote for at all.
As said above insurance is a minefield which often makes no sense🤷‍♂️

Ain't that the truth! For years I insured my classic car with Ageas through my usual broker but the year before last they said Ageas would no longer insure it as it was too old (40 years). I contacted Footman James, an excellent specialist classic and kitcar broker, who were only too happy to provide insurance at a fraction the price Ageas had been charging. Having signed up I received the insurance documentation and was highly amused to find the insurance company was....Ageas.

This got me thinking best chance of a genuine screen was when car is quite new, out of interest checked what make the original genuine manufacturer was, it’s made by FUYAO as is all the rest of the glass, they are a Chinese manufacturer and now an OE supplier for quite a lot of VAG group and others it appears😳

Thanks for the post. The R is nice, it can show the RSQ3 the way on the twisties, it belongs to Mrs Mike. I prefer the general feel you get from an Audi. This will be my 3rd Q3 and 2nd F3 RSQ3, you might say I like them.

the r was a great car but I was always getting hounded by plebs in crappy Vauxhall’s with blacked out windows, big exhaust pipes and body kits

Yes we have a few rectums tearing around up here but not troubled by them, I think the cost of fuel is keeping them local to Inversneckia :D
