The dpf on my q3 is blocked, is there any way I can clean it or does it need to be replaced?
It depends how badly it's blocked. It's always best to start with a diagnostic scan as it's possible the differential pressure sensor is faulty and giving a false reading
Ref the attached thread, it's possible to trigger the regen process by getting the engine up to temperature then driving the car fairly hard for 15min or so. ( a motorway is ideal) Failing that, a forced regen can be activated using a diagnostic tool like VCDS

Maybe when it's cleaned up you need to drive more miles at a good hard speed now and again, with a diesel you need to drive minimum of 15K per annum and thunder down the motorway once a month.

If you're not doing that mileage make your next car a petrol one :D
