Having picked up the new Q3 on Saturday been trying to work out how the dipping wing mirrors work. We ourchased the Comfort and Technology package whichm according to the brochure, should mean that, as we have Park Assist, we should have the dipping wing mirror. However it doesn't appear to dip. Will be grateful if anyone has any ideas.

Hi - when you say "dipping" - do you mean the function of the mirror changing angle to show the kerb on selection of reverse gear?

If so, for this to work, the mirror control switch on the driver's door needs to be set to the left-hand mirror position(not in the middle - where the normal "heated" position is).

To set the "dipped" position, I think you put the ignition on, put the mirror switch to the left-hand position, select reverse, and then adjust the mirror to the position you want it to move to.

When you're happy with the position, de-select reverse (and maybe choose a forward gear - can't recall exactly!) And the mirror will then return back to the normal position.

It does seem a bit odd to leave the mirror switch set to the left-hand position, but maybe that's just me....?

HiThe mirrors do not actually dip, they darken when a light shines on them see page 45 in the handbook under automatic anti dazzle mirrors (providing these were ordered) and prevent reflection
