When I lift the boot/tailgate it sounds like there is a screw rolling around inside.
Open the boot and it rolls one way, then close the boot and it slides back.
Fortunately my dealer phoned to see how I was getting on with my 3 day old Q3, and I mentioned this issue.
It is going in tomorrow to be looked at.

Anybody else had a similar issue?

Hi BP,
Had a very similar-sounding problem in the first few weeks with ours (now 9 months old). The dealer's workshop found a small piece of unidentified yellow plastic loose in the cavity of the boot lid.

Thanks for the reply JB

Sounds like the same kind of thing (bizarrely on 2 almost identically spec'd cars!)

Will let you know what we find - hopefully tomorrow

After visiting Audi when requested, the technicians were too busy to look at my car

Why ask me to go in at that time then?

Then tell me they are too busy to sort me out for 2 weeks

A quick phone call to Audi UK HQ, and things are miraculously moving along now!

Works every time.

It'll be interesting to see what's been left in the thing...

Funny you should say that . . .

I mentioned to my window tinting guy (also fits car stereos, rear parking sensors etc) about my poor service from Audi, and he offered to find the rattle.
Didn't see why he should do Audi's job for them, so I said there really was no need.
Anyway, upon returning from a spot of lunch, he said he had sorted the rattle! He had found a small bit of black plastic floating around. So no more rattle

When I was trying to find the source of the rattle, I did find a long deep scratch in an internal panel of the boot, so now Audi need to replace that

After the local dealers telling me that they couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks (25th June), my phone call to Audi UK suddenly opened up next Monday (17th).
However, another phone call means my car is now going in this Thursday (13th - unlucky for some!).
There will be a courtesy car waiting for me.

Amazing what a phone call to Audi HQ can achieve

Well the rattle got sorted last week

However, another rattle appeared in the boot lid over the weekend

Another hour and a half sat at the dealership later, and a loose clip was found.
I suspect it was from when they put the car back together last time

Fingers crossed that is the end of it

I'll bet they left a spanner inside it this time.
